As a grass roots organization, the Naturist Action Committee works best when it works in support of strong local naturist groups. Tampa Area Naturists (TAN) is such a group. Its bold and well researched proposal for a clothing-optional beach at Fort De Soto Park has earned the respect and endorsement of NAC.

The proposal includes an assessment of the need for a clothing-optional beach. In presenting the American public's acceptance and demand for nude recreation, TAN makes prominent reference to the 2000 NEF/Roper Poll that was commissioned by the Naturist Education Foundation, sister organization of the Naturist Action Committee.

TAN has prepared an economic analysis as part of its proposal. Click here to see it.

Tampa Area Naturists will present its proposal to the Pinellas County Park Board on Thursday, April 18, 2002, at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Pinellas Room of Heritage Village.

The Naturist Action Committee encourages naturists to attend this important meeting in support of the proposal for a clothing-optional area at Fort De Soto Park.

The time allotted to this topic will be very limited, and TAN's presenters have asked that supporters NOT request to speak, since time given to other speakers will further limit the opportunity they have to make their full presentation to the Park Board.

However, both TAN and NAC agree that a strong turnout will send a powerful message of interest and support. Arrive early for best choice of seating.

If you can't attend the meeting, you can still support this effort!
