DATE: May 23, 2007 SUBJECT: Wreck Beach TO: All naturists Dear Naturist, The Naturist Action Committee (NAC) is encouraging you to take two minutes of your time to participate in an online exercise that may prove to be beneficial to Wreck Beach. Wreck Beach, located in British Columbia, is one of the premier clothing-optional beaches in North America. In recent years, the site has been constantly menaced by authorities who do not accept its unique geographical, ecological, historical and social significance. The result has been a continuing series of threats to the character of the beach, including its use as a clothing-optional venue. CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION ONLINE POLL The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is sponsoring an online promotional poll to determine the "Seven Wonders of Canada." Out of 1,800 initial nominees, Wreck Beach is on CBC's "short list" of 52 Canadian Wonders. PLEASE "VOTE" Working closely together, the Wreck Beach Preservation Society (WBPS) and the Naturist Action Committee have a long history of using whatever tools are available to protect and preserve the beach. WBPS and NAC understand that positive public perception and recognition are important factors in meeting the onslaught of challenges to Wreck Beach. The CBC poll has no direct official standing. However, as a reflection of public acceptance and pride, it may be tremendously valuable. Your online vote can help Wreck Beach. Residency and citizenship are not factors. Please participate in the CBC poll online: http://www.cbc.ca/sevenwonders/vote.html Although you may select as many as seven Canadian Wonders, voting for Wreck Beach alone will be most effective. You'll find Wreck Beach near the bottom of the alphabetized list. The deadline for voting in the online poll is May 25, 2007.
